How To Work With Crystals – THE MYSTIC CAT (2024)

1. HOUSEKEEPING

Every so often, check in with your crystal. Cleanse the crystal and recharge it. If you like, once you’ve done this you can repeat your intention. This is nice to do as a “refresher”.

You can also cleanse and recharge a crystal, then program it to a different purpose.

2. WEAR THEM OR CARRY THEM ON YOU

Keep your crystal close to you by wearing it as JEWELLERY, keeping it in your pocket, or – a favourite for the ladies – in your bra!

3. WORK WITH CRYSTALS WHILE YOU WORK!

Arrange your crystals in your home, your bedroom, your office or even your car to let them work their magic for you.

Ideally, you want to put them where you will see them often, to remind you of the intention.

4. MEDITATE WITH THEM

You can hold your crystal in your hand, or place it on your body, or arrange your crystals near to you when you meditate.

Crystals are fantastic meditation aids and you might find that you’re able to go deeper into your meditations with them around.

5. LAY THEM ON YOUR BODY

You can lay the stones on your body in areas that you’d like them to work.

For example:

• Placing a rose quartz on your heart chakra to boost your self-love, or
• Sugilite and amethyst on your forehead if you have a headache.

Simply place the stones against your skin and relax for a while for a self-administered crystal healing treatment.

6. PUT THEM AROUND YOUR YOGA MAT

If you’re a yogi, you’ll likely love the energy that crystals can bring to your practice.

You can even align specific practices with specific crystals. Revisit lesson 4: HOW TO CHOOSE A CRYSTAL for tips on finding the right stones for the purpose.

7. CREATE A SACRED SPACE

A SACRED SPACE is a place where you can meditate, write in your journal and otherwise spend time re-centering yourself and reconnecting with your higher self.

Crystals make the perfect addition to this space and can offer protection, grounding and spiritual guidance.

9. HAVE A CRYSTAL BATH

Similar to laying them on your body, you can make yourself a healing crystal bath!

Non-water-sensitive crystals (ideally tumbled stones) can be added to your bathwater, along with a few drops of essential oil or herbs, to heal, restore and rejuvenate you.

10. MAKE A MEDICINE BAG

Similar to wearing or carrying your crystal on you, you can craft a special medicine bag for yourself.

Put in your charged and programmed crystal/s, herbs aligned with your purpose, and your intention written out.

11. CRYSTAL WATER

Another way to work with crystals is to make crystal infused waters.

Always check to be sure it’s safe to put a specific crystal in water, as some crystals can be damaged by water, and others can be toxic!

• Place the crystal/s in fresh drinking water (ideally spring or rain water).
• Allow the crystals to infuse with the water overnight.
• Remove the crystals from the water.
• Sip on the water during the day.

12. GIVE A FRIEND A CHAKRA HEALING TREATMENT

Treat a friend or family member to a CHAKRA HEALING TREATMENT! This is a lovely way to work with crystals on a deeper level.

Select 7 crystals that correspond with the 7 main chakras on the body. Give them a good cleanse, and program each one to healing and balancing the chakra you’ve assigned it. Lay the chakra stones on the person’s body. Allow them to lie like this for approximately half an hour. Make the experience special by lighting some incense and candles, and playing some relaxing music.
